Snake Rescue Operations
Expertise in Humane and Safe Snake Rescue
Takshak’s core strengths is snake rescue, an area in which the team has developed extensive experience and expertise. Over the past five years, Takshak has successfully rescued more than 1,000 snakes from residential societies, homes, construction sites, farms, and public spaces in Pune and surrounding areas. On-site team members such as Parikshit Ghare and Pratik Mahamuni are trained and professional snake rescuers, skilled in safe handling, species identification, and humane rescue techniques. Every snake rescue is conducted with the dual objective of ensuring human safety while causing zero harm to the animal.
Wild Bird Rescue and Care
Compassionate Response to Injured and Displaced Birds
Takshak also undertakes the rescue of birds that are injured, fallen from nests, trapped in nets, wires, or buildings, or displaced due to urban disturbances. The team has rescued and assisted a wide range of bird species, including owls, sparrows, parrots, koels (koyal), sunbirds, kites, and peacocks. Each bird rescue is handled with care to minimize stress, followed by assessment to determine whether the bird can be safely released or requires medical attention.
Wild Mammal Rescue Operations
Safe, Humane, and Conflict-Free Rescue of Wild Mammals
In addition, Takshak responds to rescue calls involving wild mammals that accidentally enter human habitats. This includes animals trapped in houses, gardens, housing societies, or construction areas. Over the years, the team has rescued mammals such as monkeys, bats, and civet cats, ensuring safe capture and conflict-free resolution while prioritizing animal welfare and public safety.
