About Takshak's Domestic Rescue
Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Compassionate Treatment
Takshak is a dedicated domestic animal rescue and rehabilitation shelter committed to providing timely, ethical, and high-quality care to animals in distress. We rescue and treat all types of domestic animals, with a strong specialization in stray dogs and cats, who are often the most vulnerable and neglected in urban environments. Our shelter operates as a 24-hour facility, ensuring that emergency response, medical care, and support are available at all times—because accidents, illnesses, and rescues do not follow a schedule. Equipped with on-board veterinary support, Takshak functions as a fully operational medical shelter.
From first aid and diagnostics to long-term treatment and recovery, every animal receives case-specific attention under veterinary supervision. Our trained and experienced staff work round-the-clock with a deep sense of responsibility, compassion, and professionalism, ensuring that animals are not only treated but also cared for emotionally. We strongly believe that healing happens faster in a stress-free, calm, and hygienic environment, and our shelter is designed with this philosophy at its core. To ensure rapid and safe rescues, Takshak’s dedicated ambulance service is available at all times. Our transport system is designed to handle emergency rescues, accident cases, and critical patients with utmost care, minimizing stress and further injury during transit. Despite offering advanced medical facilities and specialized care, Takshak remains a pocket-friendly shelter, striving to make animal treatment accessible without compromising on quality.
About Takshak's Domestic Rescue
Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Compassionate Treatment
A key strength of Takshak is its systematic compartmentalization of cases. Separate units are maintained for viral infections, tick fever, accident cases, foster care, neonatal care, and recovery, reducing cross-contamination and improving treatment outcomes. We have a strong specialty in handling viral cases, particularly canine distemper and gastroenteritis, with a 70% recovery rate, a result we are extremely proud of. Strict isolation protocols, separate entry points, dedicated staff routines, and controlled hygiene practices are followed to protect both infected and healthy animals.
Recovery-Centered Shelter Practices
Minimal Caging and Open Healing Spaces
Takshak follows a minimal-caging approach. Except where medically necessary, animals are not confined to cages. Instead, we provide open spaces that allow movement, social interaction, and mental stimulation—crucial factors in recovery.
