Takshak Animal Welfare Foundation (TAWF) is a Pune-based NGO dedicated to the rescue, medical treatment, and rehabilitation of injured and abandoned domestic animals. In addition, the organization also undertakes wildlife rescues and responds to emergencies involving wild species. We operate with the core goal of ensuring timely response, compassionate care, and responsible action for every animal in need.

From Streets to Safety: Healing the Lives of Stray Cats and Dogs
In a city where thousands of stray animals struggle daily for survival, Takshak Animal Welfare Foundation fills a crucial gap by offering structured, timely, and expert-driven care. Our primary focus lies in the treatment and rehabilitation of stray cats and dogs, many of whom suffer from life-threatening injuries, infectious diseases, or abandonment.
Unlike ad-hoc rescues, Takshak provides a comprehensive response: from on-ground rescue to expert diagnosis by veterinary professionals, from quarantine and hospitalization to recovery and eventual adoption or release. Operating 24×7, our team ensures that no case is left unattended, no matter the hour or the challenge.

Today, Takshak operates as a safe haven spread across 21,000 square feet, equipped with specialized enclosures for dogs, separate quarantine facilities, cat rooms, holding units, and a range of medical support infrastructure.
